Fake Charter Schools
Charter
schools with good numbers do so by discretely eliminating the lower end
of the spectrum from even enrolling. The only real way to improve
grad rates and test scores is to improve the quality of the home life of
all the kids. Make sure all parents have the bucks and time to provide
a quality upbringing. Kids who arrive at school from dysfunctional
underfinanced households, where there is not internet, mom and dad may
both be absent, etc., just are not going to learn no matter how good the
presentation of the racial background or age of the teacher. I speak
from personal experience at Gloria R. Davis Middle School in the Hunters
Point District of San Francisco.
